FOUNDER PROFILE

P Balasubrahmanyam was born on 06.04.1950 in balireddypalem, a small village in Gudur Taluq, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh to P.Subburamaiah and P.Subbamma. He was the second child.
He lost his father when he was only 11 years old.
In1966 he completed his S S L C, his mother could not offered to educate him further. He migrated to Chennai and worked for as low as salary for Rs.30/- per month. After working in many shops, in 1970 he joined J Narasimhulu Chetty & Sons, a Rice Merchant, as a clerk for salary of Rs.100/- per month.
He worked hard, he earned praises of his Boss. Seeing his dedication and hard work, the owner offered him a partnership in the firm in the year 1979.
He wanted to be an entrepreneur in his own right. So, in 1987, he started a business under the Name and Style of Gajalakshmi & Co., dealers of rice in George Town.
Though George Town was the centre of the rice trade, he felt it was too crowded.He had the four-sight and moved to Sidco Nagar, Villivakam wherein , he put up a small mechanised cleaning unit way back in 1993 itself.
“QUALITY IS REMEMBERED” is a policy that ha has been following. He supplies rice to all the shops in Chennai and to all their branches in the country.
Tragedy struck in the year 2001 when he lost his wife P Vijaya. He did not lose heart and conducted the marriage of all his daughters single handed.
He founded a Charitable Trust named as "SRI POKKALI VIJAYA TRUST" in memory of his wife P Vijaya through which he distributes books to the poor and needy, so that they have education and not be deprived of it as he when he was young.
He is very Religious person, in spite of his busy schedule, he visits Tirupathi Tirmala Temple every month to have darshan of Lord Balaji. He was donates liberally to various temples and religious organizations regularly.
